American Pioneer of Teaching Award: Last Call for Nominations!

Want to recognize an outstanding alternative public school teacher?  Today marks your last chance to submit a nomination for our annual American Pioneer of Teaching Award competition (the nomination window closes at 5:00PM ET today – read here for competition guidelines).

The competition has sparked an outpouring of online enthusiasm for nontraditional public school teachers.  Hundreds of nominations are flowing in from across the country!

Check out Board Director Amy Threewitt’s blog on Getting Smart, a shout-out from education blogger Lori LOLz and still more encouragement from the Center for Education Reform.

Stay tuned for April 24, when we announce finalists…and voting for our 2014 winner begins. The nominee who receives the most votes via social media will be our winner. So don’t just cast your vote; also encourage your family and friends to vote for their favorite teacher.

But first… get your teacher nominations in while you still have time!
