On May 25 nearly 2,000 parents, students, and teachers gathered on the steps of the Pennsylvania State Capitol in the name of public school options. The Pennsylvania Families for Public Cyber Schools held its 5th Annual Charter School Day on the Hill, one of the largest annual events held in Pennsylvania's state capitol.

In his speech before the energetic crowd, Lt. Governor James Cawley noted that there are currently 70,000 children enrolled in the state's charter schools, with an additional 30,000 on waiting lists. The bi-partisan rally was attended by many legislators, including Senate Education Chair, Sen. Jeffrey Piccola, a longtime champion on school choice issues, and Senate Democratic Education Chair Sen. Andrew Dinnamin.

For many, this rally represents the critical need for school choice. Many government and school officials were reminded on this day of not only the growing body of support behind the education reform movement, but also of its people's endearing perseverance and conviction of purpose.
