Every child deserves the right to a high-quality education. If school choice was offered in every state, parents would not be left to desperate measures to ensure their children receive an education.

This heartbreaking story about a homeless mother in Connecticut who was arrested after she enrolled her child in a local school district is one example of what happens when parents are left with no options for their child's education.  In a somewhat similar instance, back in January an Ohio mother was jailed for sending her child to a better school outside of the actual district the woman lived in. 

Without school options, situations like these will continue.  All parents, no matter their socio-economic standing, should have the right to choose the a school that best fits their children's needs.
