Presents “School Choice Champion” Award to Representative Todd Rokita (R-IN)

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, president Tillie Elvrum and Indiana parent leader Letrisha Weber traveled to Washington to present Representative Todd Rokita (R-IN) with the “School Choice Champion” award for his efforts in expanding school choice and keeping parents at the forefront of their children’s education decisions.

“We are grateful to Chairman Rokita for being a stalwart champion of school choice. His voice and leadership on the House-passed Student Success Act and on the Early Childhood, Elementary and Secondary Education Subcommittee have been key to making sure Indiana and our nation’s students and parents continue to have choices in education.”

The Coalition supports the creation of public school options, including charter schools, online schools, magnet schools, open enrollment policies and other innovative education programs.  Additionally, we advocate for equal access without restrictions to the school that best suits the individual student’s learning needs whether it is public, non-public or home-based.
